Simultaneously a shadowy collective of artists and agent provocateurs, an increasingly disruptive series of horizonal events, and a word used to describe the transition point between reality and irreality.

Branded interdimensional terrorists by the Bureau of Probability Control, the Central Causality Agency, and the Outer Church, Hipgenesis is responsible for subversive gatherings at nexus points spanning thousands of Parallel Earths. Attempts to obtain field reports from such gatherings have proven difficult. Reports degenerate rapidly into unintelligible communiqués filled with poetic references, utopian ramblings and pornographic sketches. What little information we have supports the theory that while each event is dramatically different in context, location, and theme, they are held together by synchronistic threads of unidentified sociomantic intentions.

It is believed that by using imaginary technology, the group is able to breach the fiction membranes separating alternate realities, thereby unleashing untold catastrophic amounts of mythic resonance. Attendees of these events are subsequently and unwittingly exposed to hazardous levels of ideoactivity, rendering them susceptible to radical modes of thinking and being. Indeed, participation in Hipgenesis events has been proven to result in an affinity for dangerous and unacceptable aesthetic forms, leading to alarmingly creative and ecstatic endeavors.

Actions by this group have been directly linked to the fall of the Soviet Republic of Texas on Parallel TW002. They are also widely suspected of involvement in the collapses of the Confederate Neopapacy on Parallel SK925 and the Pax Imperia on Parallel IU510.

Hipgenesis is known to operate primarily in the Los Angeles Correlates within Amerimorphic Continuums. They are currently wanted by the Amerikorp Imperium of Parallel JZ448, the Napoleonic Dynasty of Parallel CF072, and the X'org Empyr of Parallel ZZ997. With a few exceptions, the group's target worlds are largely pre-warp and unaware of fictiontech.

Attempts to contain the Hipgenesis phenomenon have been thus far unsuccessful, as it seems to those on the ground that this organization never throws the same party twice.
